Family

My sister Rachel was in town from Portland so we had all the family together for the holidays and for the twins blessing. It was so nice to have them all here. I have 10 nieces and nephews with one on the way! We managed to get a picture will all of the kiddos and it turned out pretty good :)

Flagstaff

Zac and I went to Flagstaff a few weeks ago because I finally had 2 days off!! Yep you read it correctly I had 2 days off in a row!! It was awesome. We drove up to Flagstaff on a Sunday drove around hung out and then went sledding the next day. I hadnt been sledding since I was a kid and it was tons of fun. We went flying down the hills and there were a few times I thought for sure one of us was going to break one of our bones but all went well :)

Beater Night

When Zac and I were dating he took me to the Manzanita Raceway in Laveen and I fell in love with Beater Night. Its actually called Bomber Enduro night but I like to call it Beater Night. There are 65 beat up cars anwho do 150 laps around the racetrack. They crash into each other, wheels fall off, hoods fly up, cars start on fire, fuel spills..its a lot of fun. They do it 2x a year and we go each time. We started a Scanlan family tradition and we go as a family once a year. Zac and I love it because we try to find white trash t-shirts and wear them so we fit in with everyone who is there. I loved the shirt Zac picked out!!! I highly recommend Beather night to anyone interested :)

Still Alive

Im still alive just been crazy busy. I have several things to post and I hope to get them all posted by this weekend :)

Christmas Spirit?

Last year I bought all new Christmas tree decorations. I got them all 50% and I was so excited at the time, that I was telling Zac how I couldnt wait for Christmas to decorate. Well its that time of year to get tree and all the decorations out and I have NO DESIRE to put up the tree, to decorate the house or the tree, to bake or to shop. This is not like me. I usually have most my shopping done by Thanksgiving but not this year. Ive decided for sure that I am not going to decorate the house and I told Zac yesterday that I dont want to put the tree up. I think its because I have 4 days off a month all of which are Sunday and its hard to get things done on Sunday and still keep the sabath day holy so I dont get a lot done. Is it bad if I dont put the tree up??? Am I being a total grinch????

GHETTO

You know you live in the ghetto when you get 2 trick or treaters the whole night...count em 2!!! Actually we only had 1.I wont count Zac's 15 year old Sunday School kid who came trick or treating...so ya that makes 1.I wasnt planning on handing out candy but I was sick all day so I though why not. Guess it wasnt a good idea :( Thanks for posting all the cute pics of yourselves as well as your kiddos, I loved em all !!!

Congrats to my sis in law Emily who recently found out she is having another baby!! I stole this picture from her blog. This makes me an aunt for the 11th time and I love every minute of it! Emily is due in June. Kids are amazing and soo much fun to be with :) I cant wait for more nieces and nephews....or better yet my own :)

My 30th

Well I turned the big 3-0 last week. Wow how time flies. It was a busy week last week. For my bday Zac took me to my favorite Texas Roadhouse and then we went shopping. I never have time to go shopping with my schedule so it was nice to be able to look around and buy some things. I ended up falling asleep on the couch at 9:30 that night!! Good times! We went to the Fair with the Hoover Family last Friday and that was fun. Its a Hoover tradition to go to the Fair every year. Then over the weekend they had a bday party for me at the Hoovers and then one for me at my family's. The pictures that were taken of my bday were SICK!! I'm exhausted most of the time but the pictures that were taken showed the exhaustion :( It was kinda sad to see me look so outrageously tired. So you will only get one picture.

OREGON

I went to Oregon this month to visit my sister and her kiddos. It was so much fun to hang out with her and the kids. My sis moved to Oregon in August and I was missing them all like crazy. I was there for 2 days. I wish I could have stayed longer btu I wasnt able to due to school and my internship. Lauren and Julien remembered me but Maude was having a little trouble. She would ask Rachel "Hey mom where is that Lady?" Now I know I need to visit more often. We went to a pumpkin patch and to the dalia farm. Lots of fun and the weahter was gorgeous. I wouldnt mind living there!
Here we are at the pumpkin patch. You got to ride a train to the pumpkins and then there was a hay maze in the back which the kids enjoyed climbing. It was really dark and kinda scary inside so we didnt go there for too long.

Sorry it has been so long since I last posted but things have been a bit so busy with work, school and life. My sis in law had her twins on Sunday. This is Bailey. She weighed 5lbs 1oz and 17 inches.

This is Ellie. She weighed 4lbs 110z and 17 1/2 in long. They are both so cute. They are not identical. Bailey looks like Kami's side of the family and Ellie looks like our side of the family. Both were in the NICU for 5 days and just got released yesterday. I wasnt able to hold either of them in the hospital :( But Zac and I made a few trips there in my spare time to see them in the NICU. They have sooo much hair. I can't wait to spend more time with them :)

Travel Agent

I need help. Zac and I are trying to plan a trip for the summer and we want to see if its cheaper to go through a travel agent...but we dont know any. Does anyone have or know of a travel agent I can call?????? THANK YOU!!!

30-30-30-30

It was Zac's bday over the weekend and as you can tell he turned 30!!! I feel bad cuz I didnt plan anything big. I wanted to and had every intention of doing it but it came up on me so fast!! I wanted to due something really fun and exciting but by the time I could really think about doing anything it was the day before his bday. So we went out to dinner then chilled at the house and I fell asleep on the couch around 10pm :( We had family bday parties over the weekend and went to Bass Bro to do some target shooting!!! It was a lot of fun. We chilled on Sunday then I had my internship. Im lovin' my internship. I am learning so much and I can hardly remember everything I supposed to but it will come with time. I cant wait til I am done and can start working at a hospital a few weekends a month (provided I find a hospital to hire me). That is my goal. Here are some family pics from the weekend.

Addie is getting so big!!! She is going to be 2 at the end of Oct and she will be the big sister of twins in less than a month. Her baby sisters will be here before we know it. My sister in law will have 3 children under the age of 2!!! We will now have a set of twins and triplets in the family (yeah fertility drugs!!!) Im sure I will be posting a ton of pics once the twins are born! I cant wait, I just wish I had more time to spend with them once they are born.

Finding the necture at a young age!!As you know my family loves Dr.Pepper so Quinn was trying to score some points but sucking on the cap. He was loving the cap and I thought oh you would love it more if you could taste that yummy goodness, but not yet. Ill give him another year before I corrupt him with my Dr Pepper obsession.

Today is Melanie's 30th Bday!!!! Have a wonderful day Mel. Its also my moms bday today but I wont share how old she is, she may not like that. I love both these gals alot :)

The Best Friend EVER- Melanie!!

Friends are hard to come by especially Best Friends. Melanie and I have been best friends for 20 years and she has been with me every step of the way!! I moved to Az 20 years ago this month and it wasn't easy to find friends. Little did I know that the most amazing woman I know lived down the street from me. I met Melanie at church and we hit it off very fast. We started hanging out at each others houses, writing and mailing notes. Such as will you be my best friend, check yes no or maybe. We gave each other little gifts we found and had a blast together. We had a ton of sleepovers and rode our bikes everywhere. I will never forget...our bike rides (Louis lips, the chain that always fell off), Madlibs, Nintendo, swimming, babysitting Kamry, looking at National Geographic, calling Carla Fox and dedicating songs to our "loved ones", ditching church and going to McDonalds to buy french fries, prank calls, pretending we had a flower shop, "Amber", cleaning your moms house and wrapping presents, "do you want to get out and walk", opening mailboxes after school, beaniwhi, making up our names "Minerva", writing in your journal, peeing in the grocery store aisle from laughing so hard, white CRX, the van (your moms pink van and our rusty van), performing the Brady Bunch theme song for Scott and Darcy, peeling out at Keller in the Datsun when we were supposed to be going to the gym, waiting outside the room when Mariah was born,watching Jaden be born (and missing Eastons birth by 25 minutes)...and soooo much more. Thank you for always being there for me. You know my deepest secrets and you still love me. You never judge me and you have always supported me and continue to support me. I know if I need anything I can call you and you will be there for me. Thank you for being there for me when I made really stupid decisions and good ones too. I wouldnt be where I am today without you as my friend. I love you tons and I am looking forward for another 20+ years of friendship. I am truly blessed to have you in my life :) Happy 30th on Monday and I love ya tons!!

Mary Kay

My sis in law used to sell Mary Kay but since getting pregnant with twins and being on bedrest she has stopped selling it but has a lot of inventory. Im trying to help her by spreading the word and letpeople know that she wants to get rid of all the inventory she has and she marked down all of the prices. She even said that the marked down prices are negotiable so she can get rid of it!! So if you are a fan of Mary Kay and want to get some stuff let me know. If she has it then she will sell it to you cheap, if she doesnt have it she unfortunately wont be able to order it cuz she no longer is a rep. I got some stuff for my face for $30 that would have sold for $55. Any takers?

The first week of internship and school has been CRAZY. My poor husband...I totally snapped at him several times and for absolutely no reason at all(other than being tired..but thats not an excuse). Ive seen the ABCs on several blogs so I thought I too would do it. Here goes!!

You may be wondering why all of the sudden I have 3 posts in one day. Well I start school on Monday, which means my schedule will be hectic and crazy so I most likely wont be able to blog much. I am going to try my best but ya never know. If you dont see new posts from me on a regular basis or if you notice I haven't made comments on your blog now you will know why. I'm somewhat addicted to blogging so I know for sure that I will be reading all of your blogs but I may not be posting comments as much as I would like to. So, don't think that I have forgotten about you because there is no way I could forget any of you!!! I will be working my regular full time job, which right now I HATE, doing an internship at Banner Baywood Hospital for 16 hours a week plus taking a night class. I am so excited to be starting my internship. I am looking forward to learning new skills. I will be working in the Emergency Room so I am sure it will be a new experience everyday. My goal is to be a social worker in NICU, PICU or Labor/Delivery. I wont be working at all with children for my internship (most likely old people) but its ok cuz you often cant become a hospital social worker with out a hospital internship. I figure with my internship and my experience with children that I will be able to get a job in the area I want after I graduate. Im not really looking forward to school but I am rather thrilled that this is my last year. I am not looking forward to my 60 hour + schedule but I know I can do it!!! ( I think I am a little crazy too).

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

Zac and I celebrated our one year anniversary last week. Time flies!!! I can't believe we have been married for a year. This truly has been the best year of my life. We have so much fun together and I never thought that marriage would be this great. We decided to go to Vegas for our anniversary...Sin City..why not? We left on the 10th and our anniversary is on the 11th so before we left we decided to eat the defrosted top of our wedding cake. It actually wasnt too bad. It did taste a little freezer burned and dry but the chocolate cream in the middle was still rather tasty, sick, I know. We drove to Vegas and checked into our hotel, our room was excellent and the sound of the Casino thrilled me. We got settled and then hit the strip. I was sooo bummed to learn that the majority of the Casinos no longer allow you to put loose change in them, you have to use cash or buy tickets. One of my favorites parts of the Casinos is hearing the noise of change falling out of the machine, but this time there were none :( We walked to almost every Casino the day we got there and poor Zac was wearing sandals and he hurt his foot. He is such a trooper, his foot was killing him but he kept going every day. There is no way I would have kept going like he did. The next day we were on the strip again. We rode the rollercoaster at NY NY and that was a lot of fun, and made me want to go to Six Flags. We then went to old town Vegas to look for slot machines where you could actually put quarters in, and we found some. I was so excited. We played the slots and quickly lost some money. The next day we went to the Stratesphere. This was my 4th time in Vegas and I had never been. We didnt ride the rides, in fear we would be sick the rest of the day, but we did go to the top. It was really cool and reminded me of Seattle Space Needle. We then went to the Valley of Fire, way cool. Its a state park that has awesome orangish red rocks. This place is beautiful. If you get the chance to go to Vegas, you have to see this place, its about an hour drive and well worth it. The next day we went home and we had to stop at the Hoover Dam. I wanted a picture next to sign now that I am a Hoover. The trip was tons of fun and we didnt want to come home!!!! Especially since school starts next week as well as my lovely internship :(

Ladies Night

Last night I went out with a group of girls from work. We decided to go out to eat and then to the club. I hadn't been to a club since my batchelorette party a little over a year ago. We went to Buca di Peppo then off to Devils Martini in North Scottsdale. I forgot my ID so I called Zac and he came to the restaurant and brought me my ID. Truly the best husband ever. The night was was so much fun!!! There were 5 of us. 4 married, one single and 3 with children. I haven't been to a club since Ive been married so it was a little awkward at first but we just danced in a group, people watched and laughed at each others dance moves. Clubs have changed over the years. When I was in my early 20's I went to the clubs and guys would come up and dance with you and you would either dance with them or turn your body away from them. Now the guys don't come up to you and start dancing. Its a group of girls dancing with a guy or two in the group or guys dancing solo. Guys mostly talked to the girls at the bar. Only one of us got picked up on...and it wasn't me. :) I got home around 2 and was so tired but it was a blast

Showlow

My older brother and his wife invited up to his boss's cabin the day after the 4th. We had a ton of fun. The cabin is huge!!! 5 bedrooms 4.5 bathrooms, game room, movie room with leather automatic reclying chairs, off road vehicles, 1500 sq foot garage with basketball court. Ya the garage is the same sq footage as my house. So here are the pics from our trip.

Here is Zac with the bear that is carved out of metal and is on their porch and its HUGE...we laughed so hard with this lovely pose. Heres the 4 of us posing in front of the bear. We had to use the timer in order to take the picture, hence the bears head is cut off.

We also went off roading, that was a lot of fun. Jason & Emily strapped the baby into the Polaris and Zac and I were behind them and off we went. We almost tipped once, kinda scary but so fun. Zac is an outdoorsman and had the situation under control. Quinn didnt even cry during the ride, he only cried when we stopped. This same time last year Zac and I went to his aunt and uncles cabin in Showlow. We drove up to his families homestead then up to Greenspeak. We ended up taking our engagement photo there so we thought it would be fun to do the same pose one year later. Most of you will recognize the photo from the wedding announcements . My little brother and his family were also up in Showlow. His wifes family lives up there so they too got to hang out with us. It was a family filled weekend. The last 2 trips I have taken were without Zac so it was so nice to go out of town with him. I dont get to spend enough time with him and I truly can't get enough of him.
