On July 1st Zac's brother Jeremy and his wife Lauren had their baby. They named him Conrad Quinn Hoover. I cant remember how much he weighed but he is a cutie. I thought for sure their baby would have the Hoover nose but he has Laurens nose, so my guess our baby will inherit the prominent Hoover nose.


Thanks to Jeremy we got to stay at the Montelucia in Scottsdale, right behind Camelback mountain. It was beautiful. Jeremy and Lauren were supposed to go July 3rd and 4th but thier baby came a week so they werent able to go and Jeremy asked us if we wanted to go so we jumped at the chance.

This was our bed. It was most comfortable bed we have ever slept on!! It was very nice!

This was the view outside our balcony. You could see Camelback mountain when you walked out the front door and this is the view from the back.

This was the fireworks show we watched from our balcony...it was amazing to see them so close.

We went to Colorado Springs last weekend to visit my sister Anna and the triplets. It was the last week my doctor said I could fly so we decided to go and had lots of fun. We went to Helen Hunt Falls and Zac enjoyed playing with the kids in the creek.

I was too afraid of falling in the creek so I mostly hung out on this rock and at the picnick table with Anna.

AACSg/bT The next day we went to the Airforce Academy. We thought we would see lots of cool planes but this was the only one we got to see. Its a huge tourist attaction but had we known that there werent any cool planes etc we would have skipped it.

They have a really cool church that you can see from the freeway.This is us outside of the church, you cant see much of it but I promise it does look cool.

6H4Gptw2f4/s320/July+2009+017.jpg" border=0> We went to Garden of the Gods, which was really cool. If I wasnt pregnant I would have been able to go on the trails. I was a little bummed I couldnt do as much hiking as I would have liked but we will visit again and then I can see more.

Six more weeks to go before baby Hoovie is here. No name picked out for him yet and we still have lots to do before he gets here....so much to do that I dont even like thinking about it...Ive been a slacker!!

Busy Busy

***Long Post**
It been awhile since I last posted. The last 2 months have been really busy! My pregnancy has been great since week 18, no complaints. Our little boy is due exactly 3 months from today. I cant believe I am heading into my 3rd trimester...it has flown by. I hope the next 3 months go by fast!! I love feeling him move around in my belly its the coolest thing ever. Here's whats been going on with Zac and I over the last 2 months. I posted from most recent to oldest but should have done the other way around...oops!

The newest addition to the Scanlan family,Gracee, was blessed in June. Here is Zack's family on her special day. Zack gave a wonderful blessing. His kiddos are so lucky to have such wonderful parents!!

It looks like Addie is trying to crush Gracee's head but she is trying to keep her head from falling to the side. She is such a good big sister to her 3 little sisters :)

The last week of May Zac and I went to San Diego for our last trip before the baby is born. My favorite thing to do is to relax on the beach so that was our plan and one of the main reasons we went to CA to enjoy the sun. We never saw the sun for the 4 days we were there. From the time we got there until the time we left nothing but clouds. I was sooooo sad. The weather was really nice but I was hoping for some sun but no luck. I was a little freaked out when I walked out of our hotel room and saw this warning sign about how the hotel has chemicals that can birth defects and cancer. Good times!!!

Zac had never been to the SD temple so that was one of our first stops when we got there. I love this temple.

We went to the USS Midway. It was really cool to be on the ship and to see all the planes. We love to check out air museums etc. Zac thought we was Maverick from Top Gun!

We went to Cabrillo National Monument. On a clear day you can see all of SD but since there was a marine layer we could only see a portion of it but it was still a cool place.

Here I am freezing at the beach on Coronado Island. It was nice to walk around the beach but chilly.

Here's my mom and I on Mothers Day. She is the most amazing woman I know. She gives so much of her time to her kids and grandchildren. You can always count on her. She is the a wonderful example to me and I love her soooo much! Zac suprised me and made me the cutest card and got me a gift certificate. I woke up on Mothers Day and went to get into the shower and there was a big homemade card on the sink. I didnt think he was going to do anything for me since I am not technically a mother yet. I love him like crazy and cant wait for us to start this next chapter of our lives.

Gracee Fate Scanlan was born on May 5th....baby #13 for our family. I cant remember how much she weighed but she was the biggest of the 4 girls. She is a cutie!!

Catch up

Several things have happened over the last several months and I have been a slacker at posting, so here ya go. Lucy Jane Scanlan was born on Feb 7, 2009. She is the cutest little girl. She was in the NICU for about 10 days and then I had a cold so it was awhile before I could see her.

Addie holding Lucy. She loves babies. Kami is due at the beginning of May and she will be a great big sister to her 3 little sister, lots of girls in their family!

In March we went to Luke Days. We went with Zack and Kami and we had no idea that we would have to wait almost an hour and a half to get in. The line was sooooo long it was ridiculous and it was hot outside. Zack's kids were amazing. They did so good. The airshow was good and my favorite part was the F-22's, really cool. I didnt get any pictures of the planes or of Zac and I...it was too hot!!

Ellie loves the camera and smiles everytime you point one at her. That week I got the flu and that was killer. At first I thought it was pregnancy sickness but after throwing up like 5 times in 6 hours, turns out it was the flu. I had 3 days off in a row and I am sooo glad cuz otherwise I would have had to call in sick those 3 days. Im so glad the flu is over. Pregnancy and flu = no fun.

" border=0> Zac's older brother got married the last week of March.We drove to California for the wedding. It was a quick trip but Im glad we were able to go.

Lauren and Jeremy got married in her aunt's backyard and her dad is a bishop so he married them. It was a really nice wedding ceremony, her dad said great things and he did a great job!

Zac and I thought it would be funny to stick out our big belly's. Im already showing, more than I thought I would be. I was thinking there may be 2 in there but there is only one. Its cool to see our family grow. My sister in law Kami is due in May. Jeremy and Lauren are due in July, we were hoping to have the 1st Hoover grandbabybut Jeremy beat us to it by 2 months, so we will be having the 2nd Hoover grandbaby 2 months after they do. I find out what I am having this Thursday!!! Time flies, in 2 weeks I'll be 1/2 way through my pregnancy. I havent thrown up in a little over a week...wahoo!!!

Fetus Fund

This is mine and Zac's piggy bank...aka fetus fund...why do we call it the fetus fund??? Well a little over 3 months ago I took 4 of these...

We thought it was too good to be true so I took 4 of these lovely things and they all said the same thing...POSITIVE...VERY EXCITING!!!!

And this is our little one. I am officially 14 weeks. We went to the doctor at 9 weeks and got this picture of our little peanut aka Baby Eureka or Baby Bissell as some have said...lol!! We got to hear the baby's heart beat last week and that was really cool. It sounded like a galluping horse:) This is one of the main reasons I was sooo sad that I lost my job. Im due Sept 14th, (which is also Zac's bday) and if I still had my job I would have had 12 weeks paid maternity leave and in addition I would have been paid my same salary with the short term disability I had, oh well. We now save every piece of change and put it into the fetus fund! Ive been able to work more hours at the hospital which is good. Loosing my job has been really frustrating but we also feel extremely blessed to be able to have this baby and for me to be able to work more hours at the hospital. We dont have extra money to save like before but we will work it out!! We cant wait until Sept...and I cant wait until I stop throwing up!!

Life happens

Its been forever since I have posted...I just havent been feeling like it but now I have lots of time to post...why do I have lots of time you may ask....I got laid off :( :(.
I got my Masters in May and was totally unhappy with my job and wanted out. 2 months later I transfered departments and found my dream job. For the past 7 months I have loved my job, loved my schedule, loved the staff, everything. I was so happy that I switched departments. Well we got an email on Friday the 13th letting us know that due to the lovely state budget our program had lost 75% of its funding as of March 1st. I was with the agency for 7 years so I was hoping that I would be saved...but I wasnt. They counted my time with the program.....7 months...and did not count my time with the agency. The thing I am most sick about is I lost all my sick time which was 350 hours. I was soooo sad and still am. So today was my first day of officially not having a job. We are officially poor so we cut the cable etc. I attempted to watch some TV today, with all my many choices of TV channels (ya right), and there was nothing but crap on!! I guess that is a good thing because I actually did the dishes and some laundry and went out to lunch with my parents. We shall see how this jobless things goes...fun times!!
